The Faculty of Education of our university, the UGEL 07 (Local Education Management Unit), and the Municipality of Barranco joined forces to reinforce learning in primary school children.

Through the summer workshops offered by the municipality, 47 children can reinforce the areas of communication and mathematics on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, thanks to the students of the Faculty of Education. This program is complemented by workshops for parents, led by volunteers from our Psychology program.

“We cannot stop working on the four basic aspects of communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In the area of mathematics, we are also working on some tips that encourage the solution of operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in a faster way,” said Dr. María del Rosario Rivas Plata, a teacher in our School of Education.

Ariana Espinoza, Liceth Ccarita, Vanesa Acosta Córdova, and Angie Cotrina participate in the volunteer program. María del Rosario Rivas Plata Álvarez, Mariela Mauricio Gil, and Tania Galindo Gonzales are the teachers responsible. The student Ana Paco assists in the Psychology area.

It is important to note that this volunteering is also conducted in Surquillo (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and is about to start in San Borja. The reinforcement activities in Barranco will continue throughout February.
