CAYETANO HEREDIA WAS AWARDED A GOLD MEDAL AND SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AT AN INVENTION EXHIBITION IN SOUTH KOREA

Dr. Mirko Zimic and Dr. Patricia Sheen won the gold medal.

We continue to stand out internationally! Heredian inventors were awarded a gold medal and 2 bronze medals at the 16th South Korean International Women’s Invention Exhibition – “KIWIE” 2023, held in Seoul from July 20 to 22. In addition, of the three special recognitions obtained by the Peruvian delegation at the event, one was for our university.

The gold medal was awarded to the “Automatic equipment for decontamination, purification, and concentration of sputum” project, developed by Dr. Patricia Sheen and Dr. Mirko Zimic. The invention also received special recognition from Dongguk University in South Korea. 

On the other hand, the project “Peptides and methods for the detection of leishmaniasis”, by Dr. Jorge Arévalo, Dr. Eric Deharo, and Dr. Ángela Privat, was awarded the bronze medal. 

The same medal went to “Intelligent electronic pill dispenser for monitoring pill consumption” by Mag. Jean Pierre Tincopa, Dr. César Ugarte and Mag. Esperanza Alarcón.

Our Heredians will be awarded in September, according to Indecopi, which, through its Directorate of Inventions and New Technologies, encouraged inventors from several higher educational institutions to participate.

The Vice Rectorate for Research congratulates our representatives for their successful inventions, exalting the name of Cayetano Heredia.
